If you have motorized shades in your home, you may already be changing out the batteries once a year. But, instead of buying new batteries, changing them out and throwing away the old ones, all this takes is a simple recharge. Then, you’re all set for another year!
The Rechargeable Battery Wand: The Details
So. Many. Questions. How about some answers?
- The size of the wand is 13 x 1.25 x 1 inches.
- The wand can be mounted or satellite, hidden in the headrail, or mounted alongside.
- One charge lasts for approximately 500 adjustments. (Approximately one year of use)
- This does not require removal of the window treatments.
- For existing shades, the wand plugs into the battery port you already have.
- Charging takes between 2-3 hours.
- Status updates for the battery charge are easily found in the PowerView® App.
Your Options
You’ve got a few choices when it comes to this rechargeable battery wand. One decision is where to put them, and the other two deal with how to charge the battery–or batteries.
Mounted VS Satellite: The rechargeable battery wand can be mounted inside the headrail. Or, as a satellite wand, a cord connects it to the shade, allowing it to be mounted near the shade in a preferred location.
Charging Options
As we mentioned in the list above, your motorized shades should not have to be removed to recharge the battery wand. The battery wand is removed and plugged into the charging station. In some cases, where the charging station’s cord will allow, the wand can be charged in place.
Approximately once a year, or after about 500 adjustments, the battery wand is plugged in for 2-3 hours, depending on the charging station you select. You have two options, the double charging station or the single. The double, like its name implies, can recharge two battery wands in a three hour period. The single is for one, but it only takes two hours. The decision is based on your specific home and how many rechargeable batteries you have to charge.
