Layered Luxury

Layered Luxury

  • blue floral wallpaper in powder room
  • custom bedding and decor in Houston, TX home
  • home office with light filtering roman shades

Sometimes when a client moves into a new modern home, there can be a disconnect between the ornate traditional pieces from their previous home and the clean lines throughout their new home. For this project, I used layers of Custom Drapery to create a cohesive look while still making sure my client’s style was prominent throughout the house.

For the dining room, I picked hardware that gave an antique feel, while keeping the sheer drapery fabric a little more playful. We also paired motorized roller shades in a fabric that picked up on the warmer tones and metallic hardware in the room. In the master bedroom, we layered wallpaper, drapery, and Hunter Douglas Vignette Modern Roman Shades to really bring all the elements together and provide a fresh, updated look.

To compliment, while also bringing together the traditional, antique furniture pieces, I paired everything with more subtle patterns and textures that picked up on all the colors in the room. To create a statement powder room that blended old with new, we went with a navy blue floral wallpaper that has a one of a kind look with the hand painted texture.
